‘Quintessentially British’ Monopoly themed restaurant coming to the UK

Everyone loves a good game of Monopoly, right? But how would you feel being in the game yourself?

Well now you can (kind of), as a Monopoly-themed restaurant is coming to the UK.

The restaurant, named Top Hat, opens in London's West End on Saturday August 14th.

And despite playing homage to the game, it is not actually too novelty or naff.

The interior is rich and subtle – including hundreds of top hats intricately hidden in the bespoke wallpaper.

Diners are encouraged to order a deck of MONOPOLY Deal – a card-game version of Monopoly, which is quicker and taking up less space.

As customers become players, they also have the chance to order Monopoly-themed cocktails and dishes.

Food on offer includes a ‘quintessentially British small plates concept’ and The Top Hat Roast, with dishes ranging from £5.50 to £16.

Meanwhile, signature cocktails include a Trafalgar Square’s Lychee & Rose Pearl Martini, a Leicester Square – Red Carpet Daiquiri, The Mayfair Royal Sours and The Whitehall, Cherry and Vanilla Old Fashioned served with a smoking cinnamon stick.

However, the real Monopoly link is that the restaurant is set within the new interactive Monopoly experience on Tottenham Court Road.

A visit, then, may be the ideal remedy if you’re completely Monopoly’d out after an afternoon playing the three dimensional property board game occupying the floors above Top Hat.

Those who want to book a spot at the restaurant can do so here.

Meanwhile, if you're not planning a trip to London anytime soon, then why not try out the McDonald's Monopoly game, which is returning this summer.

The popular game will kick off on August 25 and there is a chance for customers to win their very own VIP gold card.
