Portugal travel update: Can you travel to Portugal? Is it on quarantine list?

Portugal is amongst countries which have seen a recent spike in coronavirus cases, as Europe seems poised on the precipice of a second wave. The Government has recently shifted its quarantine focus from a national to regional response, adding Greek islands to the list instead of the country itself. Portugal may receive the same treatment, just weeks after it entered the green list.

Can you travel to Portugal?

As of today, people can travel to Portugal, but cases will soon necessitate a quarantine for people returning from the county.

The seven-day rate is currently set at 25.8 cases per 100,000, slightly above rates in the UK of 23.1.

Transport Minister Grant Shapps said the country, minus some islands, will enter the list this weekend.
