On The Perfect Pitch, camping enthusiasts rated five campsites over the week. The campers were trying to find the perfect pitch in the Lake District.

The last episode in the Lakes saw the campers head to Skelwith Fold.

Skelwith Fold is located two miles from Ambleside, in the heart of the Lakes.

Campers were not particularly impressed with the settings.

Caroline said: “I’m in the Lake District, I want the view.”

There are no views at Skelwith Fold, but there are plenty of things to do in the area.

The campers head to Grasmere to visit Dove Cottage, the home of poet William Wordsworth.

This gets everyone’s seal of approval and is branded “lovely” by the campers.

Taking advantage of the lakes surrounding them, the group then headed to Coniston for a rowing boat experience, and a bit of a race.

Skelwith Fold, despite “looking very well organised” and putting on a circus show for the campers, came last in the week’s ratings.

After the campers rated the last campsite of the week, Burns Farm and Baystone Bank Farm were the two best campsites.

The group then had to vote on which would be crowned the perfect pitch in the Lake District.

And it’s Burns Farm which took the crown.

The perfect pitch in the Lake District was Burns Farm in Keswick.

On Tripadvisor, reviewers agree.

George R said: “Brilliant camp site with excellent facilities.

“Booking was easy, communication was great and everything was easy to find on site. The facilities are outstanding and spotlessly clean!

“There is even a bike wash area outside which came in very handy.

“Terrific site which we will definitely return to.”

PJday77 said: “Amazing campsite with spectacular views.”

And Linda Mc wrote: “Camping at its best.

“Burns Farm is perfectly located for hill walking/cycling/running/open water/kayaking.

“Many hill walks can start and finish at the campsite so no driving required.

“With the recent new shower blocks and a small number of private bathrooms (we had one – FAB!), and a shop/laundry nearly complete, it’s the perfect campsite for us.

“Hosts are very accommodating and make sure the site is looking beautiful.”
