A pair of Instagram influencers want their fans to pay for their next holiday.

Catalin Onc, who runs the Another Beautiful Day page with his wife Elena Engelhardt, said the cash would be used to fund their tandem bike ride from Germany to Africa.

But unsurprisingly, social media users don’t think they should have to fork out for another person’s trip.

The pair have been heavily criticised for asking for money, with many telling them to “go and get a job”.

The duo posted the controversial Instagram post a week ago.

He shared a link to the couple’s Go Fund Me Page, adding: “Starting on the 20th of July in the middle of Germany, on a tandem, me and Eli will cycle towards Africa, and hopefully beyond.

“We want to take you all on this huge adventure…

“But we can not do this on our own. We need you!

“The funds we raise will go towards the bike and gear, food and accommodation (when needed), internet and SIM cards in every country to keep you up to date, insurance, emergencies.

“We need funds now for preparation as well as throughout our trip.”

The couple added: “Every dollar, every message, every couch or garden for our tent, any help you can offer will help us go further.

“We hope you all enjoy and learn from us.

“Together we can make a difference.”

This fundraising plea did gain a little momentum, with fans donating £158 over the last eight days.

But this is way off the Instagrammers’ $10,000 (£8,900) target – and it doesn’t look like they’ll be reaching it any time soon.

Hundreds of commenters weren’t happy that Catalin and Elena had asked for money.

Many advised them to raise the funds by getting a job.

One responder advised: “Go get a job.

“No one gives a s*** about your travels, they are not helping anybody.”

Another jibed: “Get a job you bum.”

A third added: “What a joke.

“Get a job and stop leeching off society.”

The couple don’t seem to be taking the criticism to heart.

Their fundraising page is still up online, as well as their Instagram post.
