Anyone who needs to renew their passport or apply for their first will need to pay more after an increase next month.
Reports claim that the fee will rise in February.
Anyone who applies for a new passport from February 2 will be charged the higher rate.

The cost of a standard online application made from inside the UK will go from £75.50 to £82.50 for adults.
Children's passports will now cost £53.50 rather than £49.
Postal applications will now cost £93 rather than the cheaper £85 it is until next months.
Plus children’s postal applications will cost £64 up from £58.50.
On the gov.uk web page, it states: “The new fees will help the Home Office move towards a system that meets its costs through those who use it, reducing reliance on funding from general taxation.
“The Government does not make any profit from the cost of passport applications.
“The fees will also contribute to the cost of processing passport applications, consular support overseas, including for lost or stolen passports, and the cost of processing British citizens at UK borders.
“The increase will also help enable the Government to continue improving its services.”
The cost increase comes after five years of passports remaining at the same price point.
Such proposals are always subject to parliamentary scrutiny, claims the Home Office.
According to passportwaitingtime.co.uk – which uses crowdsourced data to find out how long passports are currently taking to arrive – passports are taking between 11 and 16 days to reach customers.
This means that if you apply now you can still receive your passport at the lower cost.
