The most affordable city break spot this autumn was Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, according to new research. The Eastern European city was great value for money and offered warm autumn temperatures.

A stay in a three star hotel cost just £18 in Belgrade, according to research from Corona Test Centre.

A beer cost just £1.46 in the lively capital while a meal was a bargain at just over £5 with a coffee at £1.32.

British tourists visiting Belgrade can expect to enjoy vibrant nightlife and numerous options for a cheap meal.

Britons can also explore Belgrade Fortress, the city’s Orthodox church and discover more of Serbia’s history at the Military Museum.

Just behind Belgrade for a cheap autumn break was the romantic and historical city of Prague.

A favourite of British tourists, the cost of a three star hotel in the city was just £22 while a meal cost just over £8.

Prague also has an incredible 360 free tourist attractions for visitors to the city to explore and many cheap eats.

British tourists heading to Prague for a city break should wander across the famous Charles Bridge and explore the vast Castle complex.

In Western Europe, Porto in Portugal was the cheapest autumn city break for British travellers.

With average October temperatures of 21 degrees Celsius and 176 free tourist attractions, it’s a fantastic choice for British tourists.

Visitors to Porto should sample some of the Douro region’s world class wines or even visit a vineyard outside the city.

A meal in the city came in at under £6 while a coffee in Porto cost just £1.35 with a beer priced at £1.71.

Another fantastic city break for Britons searching for a bargain is the Hungarian capital, Budapest.

The lively city costs just £29 for a stay in a three star hotel and has a whopping 266 free attractions for tourists.

A visit to one of the city’s incredible thermal spas is a must for any British tourist who wants to unwind on a budget.

Party loving Britons should head to one of the city’s amazing ruin bars or take part in a pub crawl.

In fifth place for a budget break was the beautiful southern Spanish city of Seville, where a meal costs just £7.69.

Seville is also a fantastic option for Britons seeking a city break with autumn sun as temperatures average 26 degrees Celsius.
