Portugal is now open to Britons as a holiday destination after the government this week added the country to its quarantine exemption list. The Foreign Office (FCO) is also no longer advising against all but essential travel to the country. This means that anyone travelling from Portugal to the UK has to quarantine for 14 days.
According to Skyscanner, bookings for Portugal spiked over 2000 percent immediately following the quarantine exemption announcement.
The site has also noticed that despite being absent from the UK’s travel corridor list for months, Portugal has remained a firm favourite throughout the last few months.
The Algarve, Portugal’s most southern region, has become renowned for its stunning beaches and coastline.
