Ojai Valley Inn, a historic Southern California luxury resort set among picturesque hills about 90 minutes north of Los Angeles, has announced a once-in-a-lifetime culinary collaboration. Chef Christopher Kostow of the three-Michelin-starred The Restaurant at Meadowood will be at The Farmhouse at Ojai Valley Inn for a culinary residency from Jan. 6 to Feb. 28, 2021.
There’s a bit of magic in this collaboration that brings the special connection between Meadowood Napa Valley and Ojai Valley Inn full circle in a unique way. The Napa Valley resort inspired the design of The Farmhouse, now slated to become the winter home for the acclaimed Meadowood restaurant that was destroyed in a late September California wildfire. “It is an honor to welcome The Restaurant at Meadowood and to provide a place for their team to continue their culinary brilliance as they plan to rebuild,” said Chris Kandziora, general manager of Ojai Valley Inn.
“We are so excited to partner with Ojai Valley Inn and take up ‘residency’ at the beautiful Farmhouse designed by our friends Howard Backen and Silvia Nobili,” Kostow said. “While planned well before the Glass Fire that devastated The Restaurant at Meadowood, our time in Ojai will serve as an opportunity for the TRAM team to continue to cook and work together.”
The six-course dinners in the beautiful indoor and outdoor settings of The Farmhouse will feature California ingredients sourced from The Restaurant’s 3.5-acre farm as well as from local artisans and growers in the Napa and Ojai Valleys.
Dinners will take place each Wednesday through Sunday, and the intimate dinner setting will be limited in size, with parties seated exclusively as booked, rather than at communal tables.
The price of $495 per person includes wine pairings, exclusive of tax. Reservations are required.
The Farmhouse at Ojai Valley Inn debuted in 2019, and it continues to bring epicurean experiences to Southern California with culinary and master classes, seminars, and intimate lunches and dinners. Upcoming events at The Farmhouse include a Petrossian Caviar Master Class (Nov. 20), Dominique Crenn Guest Chef Dinner (Dec. 5), and Truffle Dinner with Nancy Silverton and John Magazino (Dec. 12).
