Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) imaging is a sophisticated Nuclear Medicine study. Typically, physicians utilize Nuclear Medicine studies in Oncology to detect metastatic disease (Cancer), and in Cardiology to assess cardiac function and viability.
While other “modalities” of Radiology are used to assess anatomical structures, Nuclear Medicine enables physicians to see physiology, or function. Physicians utilize NeuroSPECT or functional brain imaging to assess blood perfusion to the brain in order to find the best treatment solutions for the following conditions:
ADD/ADHD
Anoxic Brain Injury (including birth hypoxia)
Anxiety Disorders
Autism
Behavioral Disorders
Bipolar
Depression
Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus
Obsessive Compulsive Disorders
Stroke
Toxic Brain Injury
Traumatic Brain
